Vice Minister Fu attended Conference on the Economic Outlook for Sub-Saharan Africa

Vice Commerce Minister Fu Ziying delivered a keynote speech at the Conference on the Economic Outlook for Sub-Saharan Africa in Beijing, on October 30.

Mr. Fu said that Africa has made remarkable achievements in independent development in the new century, which won recognition of international community. In recent years, African countries are striving to promote regional integration, improving people’s livelihood, and making more efforts in the development of agriculture and manufacture. More jobs were created and living standard raised. The economic development prospect of Africa is bright and promising.

More over, Mr. Fu said that the newest report of IMF gave objective and positive evaluation to China’s role in Africa. Recently, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), and the African Development Bank also released reports and gave positive evaluation for China-Africa cooperation. China-Africa cooperation is getting more and more attention and objective and fair appraisals of the international community. From now on, China will join hands with African countries to promote the healthy and steady development of China-Africa cooperation.

Guests at the Conference exchanged views over the economic outlook for Sub-Saharan Africa, and discussed over the Africa’s new positioning of emerging countries, economic relations between China and Africa, the role of Chinese financial organizations in China-Africa affairs, and the involvement of Chinese enterprises in Africa. The Conference further increased understanding between China and Africa, and was conducive to further development of China-Africa trade and economic cooperation and the deepening of China-Africa friendship.
